Sunday Surprise Giveaway:
Breast Cancer Awareness Necklace

****Comments are now closed.****

Thanks for participating. We have a winner.

Check back often for other surprise giveaways!

This Sunday and the rest of the month of October is going to be full of surprises!

We had a tremendous response when we asked the owners of the Etsy Shops we featured in our Friday post to sponsor a Sunday Surprise Giveaway. Many of them agreed to donate one of the beautiful items they made in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.

Since we have so many giveaways we’ve decided to sprinkle the surprises throughout the rest of October and part of the surprise is that you don’t know which day another surprise giveaway will be posted! (It’s not just a Sunday Surprise anymore!!)

So we hope you will check back often, tell all your friends about this great opportunity to win something free and support Breast Cancer Awareness. Many of the shop owners donate a portion of their sales to Breast Cancer Awareness charities. To thank these Etsy Shops for their support of iLashGirls and willingness to sponsor one of our giveaways we will be making a donation to Breast Cancer Awareness in the amount they would have donated from the sale of the item given away!

If you don’t win one of the Giveaways we hope you will visit the Etsy Shops that have donated and help support National Breast Cancer Awareness by making a purchase from their shop. Find perfect gifts for those you know whose lives have been affected by breast cancer.

All you have to do to enter the giveaways is leave a comment. If you have a friend, a family member or you yourself have been affected by breast cancer we’d love for you to tell us about it in your comment.

If you have not subscribed via email to iLashGirls do so now so you will be automatically notified via email when we have posted another giveaway – you don’t want to miss out!!

Our first giveaway is for this beautiful necklace.

A 3/4 inch sterling silver disc 22 ga. is hand stamped with the word of your choice and accented with a sterling silver awareness ribbon charm and rose color Swarovski channel set crystal. The winner can choose your sentiment: HOPE, MOTHER, SISTER, DAUGHTER, FRIEND, LIVE, LOVE, LAUGH, COURAGE, or SURVIVOR. Hangs from an 18 inch silver ball style chain with trigger clasp. A $24.50 Retail Value

The winner will receive the necklace in a fun little package – a handmade box with some saltwater taffy inside!

Special thanks to Koryn of The Taffy Box at Etsy.com for sponsoring this fabulous giveaway!

Breast Cancer Awareness Necklace”

My mom has breast cancer,Iwould love this for her.

Everyone please remember to do your monthly exams and you yearly mammograms

Sounds great! :)

Cute

During a routine physical, my doctor said, “I know there’s no history of breast cancer in your family, and at your age, I’d usually let it wait, but I’d like you to get a mammogram anyway.” Therefore, at 45, I had my second mammogram. After numerous follow-up tests, they verified breast cancer. It was very deep. Even after the doctor knew the location, she could not feel the lump. It was a very aggressive cancer. I had a lumpectomy, 6 months of chemo and 8 weeks of radiation. Yes, that year was wretched. I suffered all manner of side effects. Besides losing all my hair and the sudden onset of menopause, I couldn’t eat, I lost my sex drive, and the bottoms of my feet blistered so badly that I couldn’t walk. (Not that I had the energy. Some days, I could hardly stand up.) But — here’s the important part – I survived. If I’d waited until I felt a lump, it would have been much worse. Instead, I did not lose my breast, and I’m fine now. As a bonus, because I had so much trouble eating, I lost 65 pounds during chemo! (Not a recommended diet strategy, by the way.) I know that mammograms are no fun, but please, get your mammogram! They are so very important!

What a beautiful giveaway!

I HOPE EVERYONE THAT HAS DEALT WITH THIS TERRIBLE DISEASE WILL RECOVER WITHOUT ANY REACCURANCES.

Not a great subject.. I have lost my grandma, my great-aunts, and my great-grandmother to this disease. My mom currently has it and when I found a lump about 6 years ago, after a sonogram they told me to keep an eye on it to see if it changes size or shape, its the same so far. I self-check everyday in the shower.

Wow so many positive outlooks, Ladies for those of you who believe in god or for those of you who don’t, I ask a favor of you, please pray for my cousin Sam he has been like a brother to me, we just found out he has breast Cancer, he had surgery 3 days ago to have his breast removed, we don’t know yet if they got it all, but he has to start chemo in 4 weeks, and he can use all the prayers he can get. Thank you and God bless all of you, and may god be with all that have this horrible disease, may you all recover and be healthy. I will pray for all have Cancer.

What a beautiful necklace. We had no history of Cancer in our family… I just lost my sweet mother to BC August 28.

Is there anyone who doesn’t know someone affected by breast cancer? My Mom is a 12 year survivor. I have several good friends who have been down the cancer road, one who was diagnosed 3 weeks ago. I have lost 2 friends to breast cancer. I have participated in the Race for The Cure 13 times and this year Mom and I decided to “sleep in for the cure.” It just didn’t feel right not to actually go the the race and we will be back next year walking in honor of the survivors and in memory of those who lost the fight. Get a mammogram, so many cancers are detected through this simple screening.

I have had three family members that have had it and had their breast removed and one had died from it cause they couldn’t get it all. I wear a pink ribbon on my coat and my husband wears it on his suit so everyong knows how dear that is cause is to our family. Plus i have a 27 year old daughter that his a very inlarged heart and she wears a pace maker and the other one in her chest. She also has had two heart attacks and the next one could take her with out any warning. This family prayers for her daily plus she could get Breast cancer cause it runs in our family.

What a beautiful necklace to remind us all. This is one thing I would really like to win. But with my luck I never win anything. But best luck to everyone.

I just love this idea. My mom is a breast cancer survivor and the cause is so important to me! What a beautiful and sentimental piece of jewelry.

What a beautiful giveaway. The items at The Taffy Box are great!

I have a very good friend who is hundreds of miles away that I would like to give this necklace to.

I’ve had two friends who struggled with breast cancer; one survived and one didn’t, and the one who didn’t survive had to have both breasts removed – but she is still filled with the joy of life, perhaps even more so than before since now she values every moment! I’ve done my best to give full support, especially when so many other people are scared off by what occurs and the hospital rounds (and in one case the hospice stay). I think the jewelry is very important in making it known to others that we MUST work for a cure!

This would go to a dear friend, mom of 3 whose husband just left her because he could ‘not handle it’…a friend, a survivor…would love to win this for her. THANK YOU!

The thought of breast cancer is very close to my heart. My grandmother who is 86 now had breast cancer surgery the same time I was born. My dad had his wife in one hospital giving birth and his mother in another hospital undergoing breast cancer surgery.

My grandmother has 2 sons and no daughters. She had always wanted a daughter. So when I was born it gave her a desire more than ever to live and beat to beat the illness. She wanted nothing more than to enjoy the rest of her life with her granddaughter (me). Almost 43 years later she is still alive and getting around. I know this piece of jewelry would mean a lot to her.

My sister is in the hospital right now. Suffered a recurrance – it’s in her brain.
My younger sister has it, my mom, my 2 aunts.
Beautiful necklace

What a great idea. I know several women who have been affected by breast cancer and it certainly changes lives. The necklace is lovely, what a nice giveaway!

Thank you, lovely giveaway and incredibly important cause.

This is a beautiful and very uplifting website. The giveaways are icing on the cake!

;o)

My dear friend Tracy, who is only 28, was diagnosed in August and underwent a double masectomy. She starts chemo today.

What a beautiful necklace. Last Saturday I had my yearly mammagram–think the machines are at least getting better (not as bad as 15 years ago). Two of my dearest friends are currently fighting the dreaded breast cancer. One has fought valiantly for 19 years and the other one for just a year. They have lost themselves in serving others. Their goal this year is to make 150 personalized, individualized blankets for an orphange in Mongolia for Christmas. . . .Last Friday they had already finished 40. Thanks for your awareness and support! Someday there will be a CURE!!!!

I’d love the for my Mother who has had breast cancer 3 times, and is still going strong after a double mastectomy!

I would give it to a dear friend who is a bc survivor!

What a great giveaway. Thanks for the chance.

Your site is such a good forum–give us something to laugh about or remind us about important things like doing regular exams. Thank you!

Everyone needs to support this great cause!

My mother passed away with breast cancer when I was just 17. I would love to have this necklace with her name inscribed on it. You have a great site. I love it. Thanks.

What a great reminder ~ sometimes we need that little nudge to do a self-exam or go get our mammogram. The necklace would go to a friend who is a BC survivor!

I would love to give this to my aunt who is going through chemo right now!

To those of you who’ve had the courage to fight this devastating disease, I applaud you! Thanks for this sight. I have forwarded it to all the ‘girls’ I know.

What a great prize! My mom is very involved in the breast cancer walks around Georgia and would absolutely love this.

want to win this my mother and grandmother are breast cancer survivors

This is a great cause.

I just scheduled my follow-up mammogram.

Thinking abundance

My sister-in-law is a breast cancer survivor and I would love for her to wear this!

My wonderful but disabled wife of more than 38 years is a breast cancer survivor. She would look so lovely wearing this.
Thank you for this really great/nice contest and prize!

I have a dear nurse friend, like family to us actually, whose mother has had three occurences. This woman also made a choice to lose herself in others. She is now a hospital chaplain, reads to the terminally ill, makes her life a beacon of hope to all that need it, and is now suffering congestive heart failure from all the years of chemo taking it’s toll. You would never know that she has had a bad day in her life. She is honestly one of the funniest, most upbeat, animated and entertaining people I’ve ever personally met. ( Not to mention that she’s brilliant to boot!) I would love the opportunity to present her with this necklace as a much deserved gift.

What a great giveaway. Thank you for the opportunity to win this awesome prize.

Wow! Look at all the entrants and their stories! My family has been affected too, I’m recently a part of a national study called “The Sister Study” to track sisters of those affected and trace possible causes/risks. Thanks for this opportunity!

My step-grandmother died of cancer after a ten year battle at the age of 56. This December will mark the ten year anniversary of her death. She was such a strong woman and she has made a lasting impression on me. I would like this bracelet so I can have a constant reminder of what a wonderful woman she was and what an awful sickness that took her life. By wearing this bracelet other people would know my life has been touched by cancer. Maybe it would inspire people to join me in the fight to end cancer.

Please count me in! Thank you!!

I love this necklace – laugh for me so that I remember to smile and be happy!

Most people have been touched by cancer at some point in their lives, whether directly or through someone they love, so it’s important to remember that the fight for a cure is ongoing. Thanks to the artist for creating such a beautiful reminder in this necklace!
