a waitress, a nurse, a teacher

funny I’m a mom and got to be all three!! Plus more, ie. what Leigh Anne and Sherra said as well!

An archaeologist.

All through high school and college, I dreamed of being an airline stewardess (1950′s terminology, also only a female career). As a child and teenager, people would say to me that I would be a teacher like my mother; so that was the last thing on my list. But while in college, I felt called to pursue a degree in education although I still hoped to be an airline stewardess. The airline stewardess career never came to me. Instead, I had a rich and rewarding 27 year career as a teacher as well as being mother of three children and a wife.

To be a dentist was my dream in elementary and jr. high school. In high school, I dreamed of growing up to be a physical therapist. When I got to college, I answered the call to be a teacher, more specifically a bilingual teacher. Today, I’m finishing up my 24th year of teaching many grades and many subjects but mostly Spanish to 6th and 8th graders. Now I can’t imagine having done anything else for so many years. I love teaching. Looks like I’ve always wanted to be in a ‘helping’ profession!

I always dreamed I’d be a nurse from the time I was tiny. Here I am! Same with being a mom and a wife. I’ve hit all the big things, so now everything else is gravy :) . I just ran my first marathon this weekend, which was on my life list too.

Always wanted to be a singer and a teacher – my dream never changed and I get to be both!

Dancer, movie director. So now I dance with my daughter, I have a degree in film product and have made training videos and such.

I always wanted to be a dancer. Then I decided that since I couldn’t be that, I would be a teacher. Instead, I was a wife, a mom, and an Office Manager/Assistant. I loved being the wife and mom the most.

I always wanted to be a veterinarian…right up until I went to career day and learned the realities (you know, like there might be blood involved). Instead I’ve found a career in sales that allows me to work from my home office with my dog as #1 assistant.

I always wanted to be a mom! And, now I am and I love it! (most days, anyway.) I also dreamed of being a dental assistant, because the women in that position were always so nice. And, I wanted to be a “mail lady” so I could pay the postage for people when they’d forget. It’s kinda funny the things kids think about! I have no desire to fill either of those careers, now. My new dream, for when I grow up, is to be a nutritionist. (I’m only 26, far from grown up, right?!)
