I love that you chose your bedroom. I think too many people focus on remodeling kitchens or bathrooms (and I do think those are really important), and then they put off the bedroom until last because no one will see it. I am a mom to 5 kids most of which have special needs, including autism and bi-polar disorder. To celebrate our birthdays my friend and I arranged to spend the evening together with our girls. When I returned the next morning for soccer games, my husband remarked on how refreshed I looked. Just spending the night at my friend's house, gave me that precious gift of self-care that I needed to face my daily challenges. Congratulations on such a wonderful self-care gift.
