I loved to play “house” with my little sister…we spent hours entertaining ourselves both inside and out..always we had our dolls with us…no wonder I still love being a mom!!

good grief, what are all these ladies doing up so early? LOL
My favorite activity when I was a kid was riding my horse all over town. Snellville was really small back then and I could ride to all of my relatives houses or to Briscoe Park! I’d pack a lunch and whistle up my dog and go. I should have been born in TX, I’m sure.

I loved to ride my bike up and down our street (which had no cars); my older sister and I liked to put on plays for anyone who would watch; my younger sister used to sing duets (and I can’t carry a tune); but the most fun was when the neighborhood kids would all come over and we’d play “Andy high over” and throw a ball over the house to see who could catch it. My siblings and I used to play hide and seek inside the house with my aunt trying to find us.

Anything to do with the beach! We often spent the summers in Santa Cruz, Ca and spent every day at the beach, on the pier and boardwalk.

Making forts in the back field. We would pick an area and smash down the long grass leaving a tall wall of grass around us as walls. No one could see us! We’d make paths and trails all through the field. There was a big bamboo tree and we’ll pick a long one and peal all the leaves off except for one at the top and we’d have a long spear to play all sorts of make believe with. I loved playing with the nieghborhood kids for hours. Who needed TV?

Saturday matinee, especially when one of the Hopalong Cassidy series was playing. Hopalong was played by the very handsome Bill Boyd, 5 centss for one sertal after another.

Had to be my baby blue Schwinn. I rode everywhere and it became everything from my car to a horse to some sort of acrobatic devise. I just loved the speed and the wind in my hair!! My mom still has it.
