Friendship: The Internet + 5 Minutes
Tuesday, February 10, 2009, by Leigh Anne & Sherra
We're moving! Visit us at Find Your Sock Yarn and re-subscribe to get the latest updates. Your favorite features like Question of the Week, Words of Wisdom quotes and fun giveaways will be there. Archives will remain here for now. Thanks for visiting!
We have designated Tuesday as a day where we will have different women share “Moments & Memories” in their lives.
We plan to feature women from all walks of lives – it may be in the form of an interview or as a guest writer. The column on Tuesday will be centered around our word of the month. We’d love to feature you as a guest writer. Qualifications: No experience necessary…just be willing to share a great moment or memory with other women. Send us an email and we’ll schedule a date. Our guest writers do not necessarily have to have a website or a blog as we want iLash Girls to be a place where every woman has a voice!
Sherra says…
My email *piles* tend to overwhelm me when I get behind so I will make a confession here today.
I do not always click the link, read the forward, send the prayer or do the thing that will give me good luck for seven years.
One of my closest friends here in this place I’ve called home for 18 years sent me an email last night. She is a friend of my heart who has seen me through dark days and we’ve laughed until we cried. Our darling twins are the same age but are not suppose to be. I was due in July and she was due in September. She delivered her miracle babies at 28 weeks (though she might correct me for rounding up and say 27-1/2 weeks) so her twins will actually turn 18 two months before my daughters turn the same in June.
That’s the very condensed version of a friendship that has a long history.
Tonight I opened that email forward had just one word in the subject line:
girlfriends
I almost didn’t click the link. I almost didn’t think I had five minutes to watch this…
I hope you take five minutes to watch and listen.
And be moved.
Thank you Kelly Corrigan for reminding us about the gift of friendship.
Thank you internet.
Thank you Colleen.
