Some things that help me focus:
1) Writing in my daily journal and including at least 5 things I'm grateful for

2) A long soak in my deep bath tub

3) Trying to do something for someone else daily--a card, a thought, a present, letter, e-mail, BD remembrance, get well card, etc.

Debbie - I read that post over at Simple Mom too - great info. The book by Brian Tracy "Eat that Frog" is also a great read.

Joanne -I had the house to myself today, not a common occurance as my husband works from home, and it is amazing how much I can get done!!

Heidi - I love an extra long hot shower when I know I have a busy, crazy day ahead of me!

Andrea - A bowl of ice cream can solve a lot of problems!!!

Thanks for all your great comments everyone!! Keep them coming!

Hmmm. Three things? First, I'd have to say that my kids' nap time is the best. I can get my house put back together and some projects done. That is sacred time, I tell you.

Second, getting up early to exercise. It resets my body and my emotional well being. I am so much more calm on the days I follow through and actually get out of bed.

Third, taking a bit longer than necessary in the shower. That's calm, peaceful time for me (unless my baby is trashing the bathroom at that moment...).

What helps me refocus is doing some calming activity. I especially like re-reading a part of a favorite novel or eating some yummy ice-cream or both!

If I am feeling distracted, not focused, I try to do the hardest tasks on my list first. I recently came across this blog, where the same idea is well put!
