Homemade. I don’t care how dorky. One Christmas 2 of my kids wrapped up a bunch of Q-tips. I must have been inspired because when I opened them somehow I knew to throw them up in the air and shout Merry Christmas. They were thrilled that I knew the purpose of the gift. It’s my favorite yet.

I love hand written cards too. I think it is such a waste of money just signing a card and not putting anything personal in it. I also love gifts of time. My hubby gave me the best gift yesterday and we spent the day at the beach. He’s not big on the beach, but I love it. He gave me the whole day, what a nice gift!

Cash is always good. Just kidding, but I can’t be the only one thinking it! I took the Love Language quiz and topped out with quality time. My husband travels almost every week so when we get time together it is a true gift.

Just read the Five Love Languages last week for the first time. Definitely I am one who loves the Words of Affirmation–texts, e-mails, cards. . . . . .This way I can read and reread. As I am trying to get rid of STUFF, I don’t need more things–but I do love getting pictures of my grandchildren. My oldest daughter Michelle does a fun project each year and does a summary of the year in pictures. Each year is different and I truly look forward to it. Being a GRANDMA is the ultimate.

I love being surprised. As I age, I’m finding that I don’t need/want more things, so spending time with a family member of friend is a true gift.
