Sharing a few moments with a good best best friend. While it was only 20 minutes….it was greatly enjoyed! :)

Watching my son’s team win the second round play off football game (GO NS MILL CREEK HAWKS) and playing golf with the hubby! :o )

Going on a hike and a picnic with my kids to a new place. I love simple pleasures like throwing rocks into a lake :) .

My 21 (just turned!) year old daughter came home for the weekend from University of Illinois. We also shared time with extended family during a birthday party for the now 7 year old niece that shares the same birthdate as my daughter. Good times…

Three of my seven grandchildren came for a visit. . . .We played hard and enjoyed the “Blessing Game” outside on my big swing. (Each person says something they are thankful for.) I went to a fun Halloween party where we ate yummy soup and rolls. Four friends came to spend the night on Sunday evening and we stayed up late catching up on activities over the past few years. . . .

This may sound funny, but the thing that made me happy was that I enjoyed the entire Holiday weekend WITHOUT a single treat! I enjoyed a pumpkin protein shake with cool whip on top, but that’s it! I felt calm, happy and not a single ounce of remorse all weekend!

Every year after trick or treating, my kids dump their Halloween candy on the floor of our living room to let me “check it over”. I always choose a piece or two for myself, then let them dig in! The kids are getting older, so we don’t have too many years left of this…

I finished a sweater that I started 3 years ago. Felt good to complete a project, just in time for the cooler weather. Then I turned around and started a new one.

Despite being sick I joined my WHOLE family at my parents to celebrate my nephew’s 12th birthday and trick or treating. I couldn’t go out this year but it was still fun. We’ve all agreed to do it at my house next year! Then I went to part of an all day crop on Saturday and worked on my son’s album. When I got home we looked at all the new pages. Perfect end to the day.

We went to our neighbor’s house to meet his new camel. Strange, I know, but fun. Then we took the kids to a friends house so they could ride horses. It was a beautiful day out so a good time was had by all. :)

@Peggy: Would you please elaborate to one and all about who has a camel in Illinois and why? LOL

Okay, I simply cannot top the camel comment…but Halloween brought a small “crisis” when the planned skeleton costume ( from last year of course) was nowhere to be found! Son #5 was disgusted and sad…until inspiration hit ( praise God it’s still in there SOMEWHERE!) and he went as Nacho Libre! ;0) It was a 5 minute fix in Target to find the “gear”,and so many people asked him to take pictures with them. By the end of the night, he was a PRO! ;0) It’s been unseasonably HOT here in So. Cal so it was also a relief, as the skeleton costume is felt and Nacho was a shirtless wonder! ;0) He was adorable, and I too, realized that there aren’t many of these years left. ;0/

Teri,

Good job on the last minute costume change! Way to be flexible! I thought this would be the first year when I had no one dressing up for Halloween but my high school sophomore couldn’t resist and she dressed up as a cave woman!

I went to a Halloween party that was so very fun. Then the highlight of my weekend was to spend time with friends and my hubby in church.

Are you kidding?? We went to some friend’s house in another neighborhood for trick or treating. FIRST time EVER that my hubby took the kids instead of me!! Woo hoo!! Actually all of the dads walked around with the kids and all of the ladies got to sit around the fire in the front yard with a frosty beverage. Would have been a little better with a warm beverage but it was still fun. Then we had another party to go to on Saturday night!! Wing Ding!! Two fire barrels so no one got cold Saturday night. and to top it all off – I got to go for a bike ride on Sunday! Hooray!! I had a terrific weekend.
