We had a family barbecue. It was nice.

We hosted a wonderful Multi-generational BBQ with friends and family! It was fun to play croquet, badmitton, and ladder ball with Grandmas and little ones! The fun, conversation, and laughter went late into the night and we even ended up with some extra kids sleeping in the basement!

We went to a parade, played games, had some great food and BBQ and watched some awesome fireworks with my husband’s family! It was a wonderful 4th of July!

This was a unique 4th of July for us as a friend from our “Covenant Group” and his wife chose July 4th for the wedding celebration where they shared their vows with friends and family. They asked my husband to do a “preamble” to call people together at the beginning of the wedding ceremony. They live in a cohousing community so the whole community was involved in planning and celebrating with them. The wedding was in the garden where the community is located. The afternoon was hot, but the wedding was lovely and we all had a good time.

The traditional community breakfast, a multi-family barbeque and then fireworks! Fun times!

We had a family reunion for our mother, she was 80 years old today and we planned the party for Saturday and Sunday. It was 100 degrees both days and the building we was in was very hot. But we made it and she had a great time.

It was our turn to clean the Church, so we are grateful we could do this. We watched the most amazing fireworks over the Moses Lake. The temps were so nice–lots better than the 120 in Arizona.

We got to go hang on the White House lawn in DC for a salute to the military, complete with food, concert, and fireworks. Talk about a once-in-a-lifetime event!

We went to Minnesota. Music in Plymouth (the Wed. before the 4th), always a wonderful evening with the Minnesota Symphony and an amazing fireworks display, the best we’ve ever seen!! And then a 40+ year tradition of canoing down the St. Croix River, an all day trip complete with cliff diving, picnic on a sandbar, swimming, and time spent with the most wonderful friends ever. The best day of the year in my opinion!!!
