Celebrate: Kids and Holidays Crafts

One Word. One Focus. Every month we'll focus on one word…
January = Reinvention
The word becomes the theme for our blog posts, quotes and interviews.

Thanks for visiting!

We have designated Tuesday as a day where we will have different women share “Moments & Memories” in their lives.

We plan to feature women from all walks of lives – it may be in the form of an interview or as a guest writer. The column on Tuesday will be centered around our word of the month. We’d love to feature you as a guest writer. Qualifications: No experience necessary…just be willing to share a great moment or memory with other women. Send us an email and we’ll schedule a date. Our guest writers do not necessarily have to have a website or a blog as we want iLashGirls to be a place where every woman has a voice!

Leigh Anne says…

I met Marie at a Startup Princess retreat in November and adore her site called Make and Takes where she shares “Ideas & Crafty Tidbits for Home, Family & Fun.” She’s a mom after my own heart and I can only imagine the fun we would have had if my kids were younger! I was delighted to be a guest on her blog and now she’s returning the favor here at iLash Girls. Please welcome Marie…

I’m a 30 something stay-at-home mom, who loves to “Make and Take”. Before life as a mother, I graduated with a teaching degree in Early Childhood & Elementary Education, after which I taught four years of Kindergarten. After my first child was born, I decided to read books and sing silly songs at home. I miss the classroom, but I now get to bring the fun and learning into my home.

Favorite color:

It keeps changing. I like what ever matches the season at the time. So now it’s red and green!

Favorite food you associate with the holidays:

Homemade caramels or chocolate fudge!

Pet Peeve?

When people are late! I really try to plan my time and know how long it will take me to do something or get somewhere and plan accordingly. It’s not too hard.

What is something that no one knows about you? (that you want to tell the whole internet world)

Ha! I love to read Science Fiction or watch these kinds of movies. It’s more of a boy thing, but I love it. Right now, “The Terminator, The Sarah Conner Chronicles” is my favorite show!

One word that describes you:

Silly or Crafty or Friendly. Wait, that was three!

What’s your motto or mantra:

Pick yourself up and dust yourself off. I’m all about try and try again.

What are the top three things you that are most important to you — the things you love to do and you are passionate about?

My family, crafting, meeting new people – I love this internet thing!

Celebrate

Celebrate to me means having fun and being together. Crafting with kids is a great way to celebrate, especially during the holidays. Here are a few things you can do to help you celebrate with kids this holiday season.

Books

Menorah

Nativity

Wreath

Whatever you do, make sure it’s together and you’re having fun. Enjoy Celebrating this holiday season!

Wow what a great idea to do with kids. I have a 3 year graddaughter, who loves to be in the kitchen with me, I am going to bake the wreath with her tomorrow, I am sure she will be thrilled…..Thanks for the wonderful holiday idea.

Marie,
How nice to read about a young mom who has her priorities in order and is enjoying life and her family. I love your motto…how true that is. I also like your emphasis on books and reading for children.

Keep sharing your talents!
