Leigh Anne says…

My garage – 1 car in a 3 car garage was never my intent.

Sherra says…

THE PILES – paperwork and mail consumes too many surfaces in my house.

I would also have to say my garage. Right now my sons have it stuffed. I just want to see it neat.

FOOD! For 4 months every year, my kids play competetive soccer. We rarely eat together during the week but still need healthy, fast food for busy schedules. I have a few tips and tricks but would love
help meeting my 14 yr old daughter’s and 17 yr old son’s dinner needs without being a short order cook at 9pm!

I’m with Sherra. The PILES have taken control. I try to tackle them, but just end up rearranging!!

PAPER – definitely in need of taming the ‘paper tiger’.
CLOSETS/DRAWERS – I just need someone to come in and clean out and organize.

My closets, my craft shelves (more than 3) and in general the whole house could use it. I do small things, I just need to do more of them.

Simplify is a word that really intrigues me at this time in my life. I’m going to be tuning in for sure this month.

I have a garage filled with stuff from a weekend cabin getaway we sold four years ago! We also have tons of old computers since my husband closed his office and moved it to our home. So, this is an area I would like to simplify. Thankfully, it’s a 3 car garage so we can fit our one automobile in there still. But it’s also very hot in Phoenix so I may have to wait until October to really tackle this project.

But in the meantime, I spend most of my time in my home office and this is an area that needs to be simplified and organized better. The rest of my house is fine but this area still needs work.

My Desk
My Garage
My schedule!

Menu planning

Between working and our commute my husband and I are out of the house for 12 hours and when we get home we just want something fast and easy so either we eat out or something that may not be very health.

This is a great word!

Where to start! My first response has to be the piles of paper that collect on my desk and my kitchen island, then there’s the pantry and my closet. Simplifying is good!

I definitely need help with all the paper piles I have. I need to throw a lot of it away but don’t know which ones and haven’t found the time (or taken it) to go through them.
I also need help with menu planning.

I can see we have a common theme here. My first thought was paper…mail, bills, magazines, coupons, newspapers, important notes, records, etc. I pay all my bills online, as well as for my parents and that is a great simplification.
However I am the treasurer for a club I belong to and have to handle 200+ checks each summer when renewals come around, plus all of the reservations for our annual party.
Paper, paper everywhere!

I have to agree with Sherra. Piles are my nemesis. I never know what to do with some things – I can’t throw them away but don’t want to create a whole file for just that one thing. And magazines. How in the world can I organized them enough to keep what I want and get rid of the rest? I don’t know – so I sure hope you can help me! BTW – I love the photo!

Definitely the menu planning! And, my schedule, but I mostly need discipline when it comes to that….

Healthy Menu Planning–I’m in Weight Watchers–for my family

Recipes–they’re everywhere….Help!

Housework–I need a routine that will work

General clutter throughout the house

Thanks for your help!

My bathroom. All the lotions, the shampoos, the make-up.

The house cleaning process- it never seems to get ALL done.

The clutter. Just need to weed it all out and keep only what I truly need or love.

Our library…we’ve got books on every horizontal surface in the house, I do believe, as well as every bookshelf.

Paperwork in the office. I actually moved my computer OUT of the office..because it was such a mess. I’m TERRIBLE about filing. When I had someone come do a bunch of filing for me, creating folders, etc..that REALLY helped. I’m thinking of doing that again to get ‘caught up’ – i’ve gotten better in certain areas- but right now I’m behind and I literally keep the door closed to the office (that I share with my daughter) because it’s a mess…

Great stuff thanks for posting that. I find Im reading your posts more and more.
